Good morning SV Community,
Spring Sports practices are in full swing with all teams officially starting over the last few weeks. We have had over 257 student athletes register via the online MYMCPS parental portal. Though Spring Sports enrollment is now closed, a reminder to all parent/guardians, please makes sure you are enrolled in the MYMCPS parental portal, where you have access to grades and other important academic and extra-curricular information. Don’t be surprised by grades- stay on top of your child’s academics, they NEED- YOUR support.

NOTES/RECAP FROM LAST WEEK.
Our teams were able to hold a few normal daily practices, however due to weather, most days we worked using an adapted indoor practice schedule. Though we know that this can be inconvenient, and student athletes and parent/guardians often do not know exact times until mid-day the day of, we ask that everyone have patience with the process and understand that we all must work the weather. The athletic department does its best to ensure that teams are given practice time in an equitable manner. Please make sure to look at out for Eagles Bulletin messages as well as following us on twitter for last minute and up to the second information.

The Athletic department would like to remind all student athletes and parent/guardians of student athletes that student athletes are required to be in class every day for all 7 periods. A parental note is not an excused absence.
We would also like to remind all student athletes that they are required to change and participate in pe in order to participate in a practice or game that day.
And finally a reminder that all of our student athletes have made a commitment to excellence and therefore should be attending practice every day and failure to do so may lead to dismissal from the their team.
SCREAMING EAGLE INVITATIONAL -SATURDAY MARCH 24TH
On Saturday, March 24th- our track and field team will once again be hosting their annual Track and Field Invitational. (At Watkins Mill HS) This has become one of the biggest track meets in the area and attracts great public and private teams from the DC Metro area. It is a great event and a blast to be a part of. As you can imagine, to run such an event, requires a lot of volunteers throughout the day. This ranges from helping to man specific events, to helping out in the concession stand. We are encouraging parents/guardians to contact Head Track Coach Chris Colbert or Athletic Director Jesse Irvin if you are interested in helping in any manner. The event runs from 9 am until 6 pm- with help needed as early as 7 am and as late as 7 pm. Any time commitment is welcome. Thanks in advance for making the event such a great one.
The Booster Club is need of volunteers to work the concession stand for this event. Please make sure to use this link to sign up.
